Do red heads 'take' hair dye well?

hi i was wondering if red heads/ orange hair takes hair dye well, or would i have to bleach it no matter what...

Whether hair takes dye or not doesn't depend on the natural color really, as long as the dye is darker than the current color. It just depends on the genetics of your hair. It also depends on the quality and brand of the dye. My hair is naturally light brown, and even after its bleached to a very light blonde, it doesn't take to unnatural colors very well (pink, purple, ect)

I say just try it. Use a semi-permanent first to see if it'll work.

The best brand of dye you can find in a regular drug store is loreal.

I am assuming you are a "virgin" red head....

Virgin in the hair color universe = with absolutely nothing/no color on it.

so ....the hair you were born with.

I am very experienced with Red heads and as a rule:

Red heads take color VERY WELL......please do NOT bleach your hair to change your hair color. THAT would be the very worst thing you could do, i assure you.
