I like natural looks, so nothing to far away from the color of your hair right now. Also, in the summer you want a lighter look, where in the winter you can go a little darker. Ask your beautician what she thinks!!!

with red hair..i believe like if u wanna go lighter..go for like a strawberry blonde..but dont put too many in cuz it will ruin the naural color of ur hair..but make sure it is even and a think line of the color to make it look cute..but if u wanna go dark.. i would go for like an alburn or chessnut color..i love those colors on red hair..you could even go for a thicker line of highlighs with that color..but if u wanna look extra hott( ;-) ) u could even do a little bit of both..like alternate..alburn/chessnut,strawberry blonde...ablurn/chessnut,strawberry blond..my firend just had it dont and it looks wiked cutte!=) good luck hunn..

whatever you use - be sure it says "ash" somewhere. Red hair reacts differently to "regular" hair coloring - especially lightening - it tends to take on an orange hue. Your best bet? Let a professional advise as well as do it! Trust me, I learned the hard way! Trying to save money by doing it myself, the disaster cost me twice what it would have if I had just let a pro do it!

NO NO NO to all other answers. I'm a hair dresser and if you want a bold statement then go with a platinum blond and have them do slices with foil and half-head or top foil always look nice for a bold statement. If you want to do a bold statement make sure you have the right cut for it! if you have curly hair half head or full highlights are usually best. Without seeing your hair its hard to tell. If you want a natural look then yes go fo a light auburn about 2 shades lighter then your hair now. and always foil!!! for a natural look the foil should be full foil thin slice and each slice should be weaved. this gives it a VERY natural effect! almost sun kissed highlights. Make sure to have a pro stylist do it please don't so it your self you WILL screw it up I promise!!! If you can't afford a salon then go to a beauty school and have them do it. Major beauty salon chains (not cheap ones but very expensive ones!)usually look for hair models, so if you call around and ask if they need color models you might get it done for FREE!!!

If you have Auburn hair, get golden. If you have RED hair get strawberry blonde and a golden blonde. If you mix two different colors in, it will look more natural and blend in with your red hair. Have the stylist put more of the golden where the sun would naturally lighten, around your face and bangs. If you have pink undertones in your skin, steer clear of going too light, it will wash you out.
