Why do people always assume if you have red hair that your irish?

I guess the same reason that if you are brown, you are a paki, if you are black, you are african. Basically, it is ignorance.

I always assumed if they had red hair they were reddish. Ha! Ha! Seriously, I never heard of that. Maybe its a regional thing.
