I want to go blonde - but I have red hair, what should I do?

What color dye should I use? What brand is the best?

From one redhead to another, keep it red. But if you must, go to a hairdresser. I tried a blond color from the grocery store and came out looking like Ronald McDonald. I had to wear a scarf to work the next day until I got in the beauty shop at noon. It was a disaster. If you want a change, go with a different red, like strawberry or deep auburn. Red is better. I felt like I lost my identity as a blond.

Are you sure? Red hair is much prettier.

maybe just highlight it, red hair is sexy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

go to a hairdresser and get professional advice. depending on the level of redness you nay need to go piroxide blonde then dye another blond over the top of that. also need to think of regrowth, how long till you get red sprouts, can you afford touch ups every 6 weeks.

If your a light red head then try a blond which has red/copper tones in it. that way your red highlights will enchance the blond

You could wind up with a brassy color if you are sure of what you are doing. First time try a professional.

red hair is hot so keep it...if you want blonde hair keep the red and put blonde streaks in it

Have a professional do it. You don't want to wind up orange!!

Don't get rid of your red hair! I used to dye my hair red because I love the different colors it can be. Still, I missed my blonde.

I would say if you absolutely still want to, buy 2 kits of 40 volume bleach. The days before you bleach it, each time you shower leave on a deep-conditioning treatment to make sure your hair is the healthiest possible before bleaching. Bleach your hair once, this will make it extremely orange and nasty haha. Wait at least a day depending on your current hair condition (if it's brittle and dry, wait more than a day). Then, bleach it again. If it's still yellow/orangeish, use a toner to get rid of the brass. Then, use an ASH BLONDE kit. If you use a golden blonde kit, it will only enhance the red tones and give it that brassy/orange look. Usually most hair dyes carry a medium, dark and light ash blonde. Finally, continue to deep condition your hair a week after you dye it.

I used Ultra Blue bleach by L'oreal twice on my hair, then I went over it with Medium Ash Blonde by Clairol Nice %26amp; Easy.

If you haven't had much experience with dying your hair or others' hair, I would recommend having someone who is experienced with hair dye do it. That way, they know to cover all the spots. Or, if you're still unsure I recommend getting your hair done at a salon.

I am a hairdresser and I would reccomend that you go to a salon to get it done. I would say to try some highlites first in case you end up not liking it. If you insist on doing it yourself then go to your nearest Sally's Beauty Supply store and have one of the sales associates help you find something for the best results.

I have red highlights so I have to use an ash blond color. I use Nice N' Easy 102 Light Ash blond. If your hair is a really bright red you might want to talk to a professional stylist or go to www. clairol.com they give great advice on hair dyes.

To get rid of the red You need to prelighten or bleach Your hair or You're hair will go orange like a pumpkin, this will dry Your hair out so make sure to use lots of conditioner and don't leave the creame bleach on longer than you need to, You will probaly need a nice soft blonde color toner or color to apply after if Your color turns out to white..Personally I think You should have this done by a professional.
