It depends on why you are doing it...I had platnum blonde hair and was teased constantly about it so i died it red...(didnt work, I was teased worse) Silly boys in school...anyways worse mistake of my life, and it has been 2 years and the color is still not out of my hair, By the way it was temporary hair color. But I dont think you should dye your hair if it is for a silly reason, try high light or low lights and get it profesionaly done.

That is up to you, but let me give you some pointers. Red hair doesn't lighten well so if you wanted to go blonde I'd advise against it. You could try something a little less drastic by trying some highlights. Highlights don't have the regrowth line you have to deal with when coloring all over and is a nice way to start trying color. Highlights don't always have to be blonde either. You could get a few streaks of a different shade of red to subtle change the tone of your red or even get an ashy or darker color (close to your natural) to tone the red down a bit.

I get people in my chair all the time who want natural looking reds. It's hard to do and they fade so fast! You've got what people pay me big bucks to do! But if you are bored or want a change, see a stylist and talk (you don't need to actually do it) about your options. Look at pics in magazines or on the web of hair you like and take with you. If you like what you hear try it. If it is about other people making fun-Ignore them. They are jealous that they don't have it! Trust me!
