anytime you color your hair yourself, its always really light or really dark for the first couple of times you wash your hair. It will lighten up, it just might take a week or so! good luck

red dye fades faster than any other dye. (i dye my hair red too) so just wait. it'll fade to a lighter color shortly.

Well, if you want to keep the dark red hair, I suggest light red highlights. If not, get a lighter color red to dye your hair with.

Now, first you must know that keeping red hair is very hard to do. It fades very quickly and needs to be touched up a lot also. After a few shampoos it will start to fade and within a few days to a week, it should be lighter. I don't suggest washing your hair with any other product that isn't shampoo or conditioner. You can never be too sure of what it may do to your hair. Everyone is different so I would stick to shampoo and conditioner only.

As a one time cosmotologist: Wash your hair several times with Prell Shampoo. It is called a stripping shampoo and will lighten the hair color a bit. You may also want to use conditioner after several washings. Good Luck!

If you use regular shampoo (not the kind especially designed for colour treated hair) it will fade out after a few washings. However, if you really don't like it that dark %26amp; can't wait, liquid dish washing detergent such as Sunlight, Palmolive or Dawn will do a great job of fading it out in one wash. Just be pre-warned that it is very harsh on your hair and gives you very little control how much it will fade. You will need an excellent conditioning product if you want to put the moisture back into your hair after using a detergent.
