The thing is that you're trying to get a dark color, when your hair isn't near brown. You have to slowly move into dark brown, it's the same as brunettes going to redheads, it's impossible without lightening your hair a bit first. Not all the hair color stays, some of it washes away in the shower, exposing your hair underneath, which is why it doesn't last. Try going 3 or so shades darker every 2 weeks and it will last much longer.

It would be good to get it done at the hairdresser, Yah it's expensive but you won't have to keep on buying and buying at the stores, So in the end it will cost the same because if you keep on buying at the stores it will add up and end up like you getting it at the hairdresser!!!! Because at the hairdresser you don't have to keep on going!!
